Senior Manager Device development engineer

Position Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE:Provides management and leadership to the ORNAND2 device engineering group. Ensures that Device Technology projects are properly developed, fully characterized, and transferred to Manufacturing while meeting technology and product goals for performance and reliability, with complete and accurate documentation. MAJOR FUNCTIONS:1. Manages the ORNAND2 device engineering department and provides technical leadership to the device engineering team. Insures that technology electrical design rules are met as committed to product line and delivered on schedule. 2. Develops and executes processes which support any of the following areas: memory array and CMOS device characterization and modeling, definition of electrical design rules which ensures the technology meets product performance and reliability objectives, development of device reliability models, and defining device scaling road map. 3. Coordinates and plans all new technology and modifications of existing technology programs. 4. Evaluates feasibility of scaling the technology. 5. Reviews project plans and milestones for new technology development and integrates into overall department planning process. 6. Oversees the project teams ensuring projects proceeds on schedule and all project criteria are met. 7. Reviews and approves technical reports at the completion of the projects. 8. Develops, maintains and implements department budget. 9. Works on related projects and/or assignments as needed. PROBLEM SOLVING:1. Creates device technology development strategy selecting best approach to new device technologies. 2. Ensures that the transfer of technology is complete and documented. 3. Directs and motivates the Device Technology Department. DECISION MAKING:1. Approves projects. 2. Determines priorities for project activity in the department. 3. Provides information for decisions on new product planning. 4. Determines organizational structure of the department.

Qualifications:

A technology related bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience plus 10 years of related experience with demonstrated excellent management skills. Requires experience in the development of Non-volatile memory, reliability engineering with an understanding of device physics and with positive human relations and effective communication skills. Doctorate degrees are preferred.
