The selected candidate will have a unique opportunity to be involved with our future strategy and help develop new product ideas. This candidate will work with a team of world famous lighting experts and help pioneer a whole new product line by combining LED application expertise with IR’s industry leading power management and high voltage IC technology. Responsibilities: • Analyze and match various LED application needs and IR's available technologies. • Innovate and generate new control and protection topology that would result in end system improvements. • Define a series of new products to develop and sell, starting with a rough description and eventually a detailed datasheet. • Work with IC designer on benefit versus cost tradeoff analysis for proposed functions. • Participate in various product development activities such as test plan generation, test data analysis and product evaluation. • Generate and test breadboard circuits for new function creation. • Run behavioral model simulation to verify new function development. • Run system level tests on new products to verify their function and performance. • Develop new Reference Design (or Demo Boards) for customer education and product promotion. Also lead Reference Design manufacturing. • Strategize on market launch & promotion, and participate in market communication material generation.Requirements: • BSEE or MSEE/MEEE degrees • 3 yrs or more experience as an Application Engineer at an LED device company or as a Design Engineer at an end product manufacturer of products that use LED. • Extensive experience in designing, generating and evaluating system circuit boards. • Some experience in working with customers. • Demonstrated inventiveness • Effective communication skill, both spoken and written.Relocation available Submit Your Resume Online Now
