This position will be responsible for the development, evaluation and instruction of training programs in the areas of electrical equipment and system protection (relays). Knowledge of electrical principles, theory, A.C. and D.C. fundamentals, advanced circuits, physics, mathematics, technical writing required. Additionally, knowledge of test equipment used in troubleshooting complex substation equipment is a plus. Will train employees on the installation, calibration, adjustment and maintenance of protective relays, data communications equipment, power line carriers and metering equipment. -Act as subject matter expert in training, coaching and development of equipment and relay protection technicians. -Coordinate with business partners to define work processes and develop and document work practices to comply with regulatory guidelines. -Work with Community College partners to customize curriculum to support Dominion's technician training needs. -Assist with the development of training scholarship and summer internship programs to encourage interest in technical positions with Dominion. -Assist with development and implementation of recruiting plans targeting high schools, military bases, etc., to fill pipeline for future technician needs. -Serve as subject matter expert in recruiting future technicians.Qualifications-Considerable experience in instruction in the electrical/electronics field. -Thorough understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design.Experience working in electric industry working with with high voltage and system protection equipment.-Excellent technical writing and verbal skills.-Excellent computer skills.-Excellent time management and problem solving skills. -Ability to analyze job tasks and develop training materials.-Ability to interface with Business Unit customers, regulatory personnel and industy peers.


2 or 4 year degree with courses in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology or equivalent in combined education and related experience.  Previous electrical utility experience preferred.
