We are looking for a Senior IC Development Test Engineer for our Morgan Hill, CA office.

Job Summary/Purpose:

Software design, development and qualification of test systems and software for used for RFID Integrated Circuit characterization and product support.

 

Augment the test and characterization testing capacity within the I.C Engineering department through the addition of software development and tester system operational capacity.

 

Summary of Duties/Responsibilities:

Acting as part of a team within the Alien Technology I.C Engineering department;  design, code, verify and validate test programs that will run on PC based hardware as part of the I.C development processes.

 

Write conversion programs to convert raw test data to meaningful engineering statistics, wafer maps to assist customers and Alien engineers to evaluate and use Alien's RFID I.C's

 

Interact with I.C, and reader design engineers to implement test systems that will be used to characterize and verify engineering and product design parameters.

 

Interact with production vendors to implement and maintain production test systems used to test and configure production Alien I.C's for both sample and 100% tests.

 

Communicate and translate as required to support operation and placement of test system hardware, software and data retrieval systems in test contractors primarily in Asia.

 



Specialized Skills:

Must be able to speak and write in Mandarin Chinese and be able to translate technical and engineering documents to and from English or Chinese.

 

Must be able to travel to and from China to support test and test engineering efforts.

 

Must be able to use C, C++, C# and assembly languages, compiler  and development tools to create, debug and deploy test system software.

 

Must be able to develop test solutions for PC, Linux, and embedded TI DSP, Xylinx/Altera FPGA and other realtime hardware platforms.

 

Must be able to utilize National Instruments Labwindows CVI,  Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, 2005 and 2008 to implement, and maintain test programs on PC platforms.

 

Must be able to develop software using GPIB, RS-232, Ethernet communication protocols to control test instrumentation.

 

Must be able to code, test, verify, and operate electronic and electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, wafer probers, logic analyser, rf power meters, signal generators using serial, gpib as well as other automation protocols.

 

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be proficient with  Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

 



Education & Experience:

MSCS, BSEE, MSEE or equivalent industry production or engineering test development experience.

 

10+ Years experience with C and C+ real time hardware and software development.

 

2+ Years experience in use of National Instruments GPIB, DAQ, and software development systems using CVI and Measurement Studio.

 

Experience in operation and test programming using TSK, wafer prober is a plus.

 

Experience in test development for Nextest testers is a plus.

 

Understanding of basic RF measurement hardware and methods.
