Senior Field Service Technician
Description: Experienced Radio Communication Technician. Will be responsible for system level installation, repair and maintenance of two-way radio and control equipment. This will include: Repeaters, microwave, dispatch consoles, etc. Experience with Motorola Centracom Elite consoles, and Motorola trunked simulcast radio systems is preferred. Experience with Motorola P25 digital systems is a plus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Install and maintain two-way radio infrastructure products including base stations, repeaters, trunked system controllers, consoles, and other associated control equipment. Install and maintain computer equipment and simple networks. Follow statements of work, and other written and verbal instructions. Read and interpret schematics, block diagrams, and architectural drawings. Adjust daily service schedules as necessary to complete repairs. Perform remote diagnostics using PC communications software. Perform preventative maintenance tests, and align equipment to meet manufacturer's specifications and comply with FCC regulations. Complete detailed repair reports and communicate to management and customer. Reports are to include model numbers, serial numbers failure analysis, components replaced, final resolution, etc. Escalate critical issues to supervisor and /or service manager when necessary. Maintain professional relationship with customers. Balance customer satisfaction and company profitability. Manage time effectively. Experience: Must meet the following requirements: At least four years of experience in a similar job field. Fluent in using instrumentation (service monitor, oscilloscope, watt meter, frequency generator, frequency counter, T1 test set, etc.) Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite & Tools. Front-line customer contact. Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Associate degree in electronics, RF Communications, or equivalent certification/experience. Ability to take and pass the ETA Associate level technician certification exam.
