OSRAM SYLVANIA has 22 manufacturing plants, one equipment assembly operation and twelve research and development laboratories, along with a network of sales offices and distribution centers serving all of the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Most of the company's products are marketed in North and South America under the SYLVANIA or OSRAM brand name.


Engineering position focused at the development of LED products for both retrofit industrial and consumer applications. The development activities include product design, engineering analysis, and test qualification. Focus of this effort is to successfully deliver the performance, quality, and cost targets established by the project team.

This position will require 3-4 trips to Germany for 6 weeks at a time in the first year.

Minimum Education requirement: BS Electrical Engineering or Physics and at least 4 years of experience. MS degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have 4-10 years of demonstrated technical competence in power electronics design.

The ideal candidate with have 4 years of demonstrated technical competence in LED development or related activities. Successful candidate must be willing to travel frequently for trips of up to 6 weeks to Regensburg, Germany. Full travel assistance is of course provided.


Position requires the ability to work effectively in a global team setting comprised of resources from NAFTA, EU, and APAC regions. Strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required. Ability to speak German a plus, but not required.
