Yoh Engineering has a direct hire opportunity for a Satellite Communication Technician to join our customer in Duluth, GA. Essential Functions (Responsibilities): • Manage advanced communication systems including satellite systems, high frequency RF, modulation / coding, and broadband communications. • Assist network engineer in the troubleshooting and repair of Cisco 1700, 2600, and 2900 series routers. • Configure, troubleshoot and repair Tachyon AF 1200, CI 1200 units. • Configure and repair TracStar Systems MVS Series ACU. • Configure and repair AVL iMOVSAT, iSNG Fly Away antenna systems. • Diagnose and service Roto-Lok Drive System and antenna systems. • Diagnose and repair/replace Norsat 4606a and NGRC 1200XT Ku Band equipment. • Assist network engineer with the configuration and repair of Cisco AP Series wireless equipment including AIR-350 and AIR-1200 series access points and bridges, and Cisco 7960G IP Phones. • Diagnose and repair Powermax RACMAX systems. • Responsible for the testing, reporting, cleaning and repair of complex wireless data products including KU-Band satellite equipment and 802.11x wireless systems. • Follow and document testing procedures to ensure optimized performance for all field applications. • Manage test lab with satellite and wireless vendors to ensure performance and reliability levels. • Oversee project execution to ensure deliveries of services are in-line with requirements/expectations. • Drive process improvement through leverage of Lean principles. • Render technical support to all field and network operations personnel as needed. • Ensure all hardware is tracked and reported in Asset Management system. • Maintain inventory levels and report status in weekly basis. • Prepare and coordinate all hardware for shipment to designated locations.Qualifications/Requirements: • 2-year degree or 2 years of work experience.ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.Desired: • Knowledge of DSL, Frame Relay, ATM, VPN Wireless, Ethernet, and Satellite transmission. • Ability to review and understand system level drawings for various VSAT and satellite communications networks. • Technician must be detail oriented and have a mindset to diagnose and repair sophisticated networking, satellite, and wireless hardware. • Should have a mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical systems. • Engineering or Technical degree. • High energy, excellent communication and leadership skills. • Demonstrated ability in meeting schedule and technical commitments. • Process oriented mindset. • Green Belt CertifiedGeneral: We offer a competitive salary, outstanding benefits package and the professional advantages of an environment that supports your development and recognizes your achievements.
