POSITION SUMMARY: The Sales Engineer is responsible for direct and distributor sales within North Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. Promotion of Omron Electronic Components LLC, products and services including: Relays, Switches, Photomicrosensors, micro sensors, connectors, optical devices and value added capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and qualify potential accounts that match Omron’s product and application competencies.Execute high velocity sales with OEM and end user customer accounts at the enterprise and at the production level.Successfully build relationships (internally & externally) with customers to achieve assigned sales and corporate goals for Omron Electronic Components, LLC.Daily interaction with customers (internally and externally).Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner with customers.Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge required to sell effectively in applications for electromechanical and electronic technologies.Attain monthly and yearly sales goals/quotas established by management.Timely completion of assigned reporting activities.Cooperative selling with authorized distributors will be part of the assignment.Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education: Four (4) year Engineering Degree (BSEE, BSME) or two (2) years Technical School Degree with equivalent work experience in the market.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated application solutions sales experience with OEM and end user customers in the electronic components industry.
Sales experience required:Relays (Power, C&C, Signal, Solid State, etc)Pressure and Airflow SensorsConnectors (FPC & FFC)Optical switches and optoelectronic sensorsSwitches (detection, manual, sealed, low and high voltage, etc)Value Added capabilities with all product salesNew technologies for emerging marketsApplied knowledge and selling experience in selling component or passive products to OEM or distributor accounts. Proven history of consistent sales success in multiple market areas.Consistent sales history selling over a million dollars annually.
Technical Abilities: Proficient with Microsoft Programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience with Lotus Notes desirable.

Travel Requirements: 50% of position is domestic travel primarily within the Southeast Region; weekend work, long hours as needed to finish project and meet job requirements.
Physical Requirements: Motor vehicle use necessary. Able to walk trade shows, stand at trade show booth, help set up trade show booths, carry product, literature and sample containers up to 35 lbs.
Environmental Factors: Home office. Travel to customers, manufacturers, and warehousing sites.
