Sales Account Manager

In this newly created role, you will work closely with channel partners and our direct Bay Area Sales Team to capitalize on the growth in the computer, telecommunications, and wireless markets. Qualifications include: • Looking for early-career sales people (3-6yrs Technical Sales) or Engineers, Marketeers, Product Managers with technical background (BSEE or equivalent) who have a strong desire to transition into a sales role. • Highly motivated and success driven. • Fully developed tactical sales skills (prospecting, qualifying, closing, and growing existing customers). • Knowledge of high-speed digital design, wireless communications, and data communications. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Excellent time and territory management habits. • Experience with personal computer, e-mail, and Microsoft Office programs. • BSEE or equivalent; M.B.A. desired.
In this role, you will be expected to: • Exceed target for your territory under designated budget each fiscal year. • Develop a Territory Sales Plan that focuses on prospecting for new business, growing key accounts and expanding the overall business. • Plan and execute sales stimulus activities including seminars, product shows, and mailings. • Profile and penetrate key accounts by developing account profiles. • Understand customer organizations by department, function, strategies, and key programs. • Master the features and benefits of our primary products, including Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and Signal Generators. • Identify and sell into new and existing applications for Tektronix products. • Effectively utilize sales resources including applications engineers, channel partners, inside sales support, and customer service reps.
