SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER: CCD CAMERA DESIGN

We are searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to be Electrical Engineering’s expert on image sensor (CCD and CMOS) read-out electronics and imaging electrical performance.  This position will be responsible for the design, development, modification and evaluation of circuitry, logic and software for camera products and other hardware systems as part of product development or sustaining products.

 

Primary Tasks:

 Responsible for all Electrical Engineer aspects of image sensor (CCD or CMOS) electronics performance in Gatan imaging products including system level architecture and detailed design of sensor read-out circuitry, optimization of image sensor performance, system and sensor performance measurement and characterization and specification and selection of image sensorsDevelop or assist in the development of design specification at the product, sub-assembly and board levelsGenerate appropriate engineering documentationResponsible for the design or specification of manufacturing test fixtures and proceduresGenerate or oversee the generation of complete and accurate manufacturing documentationWork with vendors, partner businesses and suppliers in the identification and/or development of components, assemblies or techniques advantageous to the engineering of low cost leading edge products

 

 

Required Skills

 A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required, MSEE preferred.  Equivalent work experience may be considered.6+ years Electrical Engineering Experience4+  years direct experience with CCDs and CCD camera electronics requiredStrong in analog design, noise, grounding and signal integrity issuesStrong in thermal management.  Experience with temperature control using thermoelectric coolers a plusFamiliar with FGPAs and microcontrollersExperience with optics, DC/DC power supplies, high speed video systems and regulatory compliance (CE, UL) are all strong plusesExperience in MS Office Suite, schematic capture and circuit simulations tools, excellent organizational skills, the ability to communicate technical information, multi-tasking and the ability to work with vendors are all essentialMust be a self-starter able to work in a multi-technology team environment with a minimum of directionMust be able to set and meet goals and objectives
