Newark is looking for a highly motivated Senior e-Commerce Architect that would lead, architect and drive the technical eCommerce direction in line with the Premier Farnell business strategy.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
? To design and develop a robust, scalable and performant global eCommerce architecture (covering both B2B and B2C)? To be the point of contact (take the lead role) for eCommerce Architecture with the Head of IT Strategy/Architecture? To take a lead role in supplier relations and process improvement.? Design develop and maintain eCommerce technical strategy aligned with overall global business strategy (covering Website, eProcurement and other eChannel solutions)? Design, develop and maintain the framework for eCommerce application development? Design, develop and maintain a robust eCommerce security risk management strategy? To architect eCommerce solutions within context of the wider Premier Farnell IT architecture (ERP, CRM, Middleware, Network)? Lead new non-S3 initiatives as agreed with the Global eCommerce Delivery and Architecture Manager? Provide robust recommendations and insight to latest eCommerce technologies, platforms and business opportunities? Develop knowledge management processes to grow eCommerce awareness across the Premier Farnell group? Work alongside our business teams to influence and drive the technical direction of our eCommerce applications? Work closely with the Global eCommerce Delivery and Architecture Manager and the Web Application Architecture Lead to lead the delivery of architectural initiatives? Lead the scoping (at release conception) and shaping (after development) of Release content, ensuring alignment with the eCommerce Architecture Vision? Working closely with the Development and Support Team Leaders to govern the quality of releases by acting as the Chair of the Technical Design Authority
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
? The job requires at least ten years experience working in IT, with at least 5 of those years spent in a technical leadership position with responsibility for designing, developing and architecting eCommerce systems in a Unix and Microsoft Windows environment.? Must have an outstanding track record of delivering eCommerce architecture solutions to large multinational organisations? Must have in-depth knowledge of eMarketplaces, Exchanges, eProcurement, Web Portals, Intranet, Extranet, Auctions etc.? Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to work hands-on in a fast paced, organic environment? Must be well versed in eCommerce development technologies and platforms, especially: J2EE, UML, Oracle, Unix (Solaris), OpenSource, (at least 5 years experience with all of the above)? Experience in at least two J2EE application server technologies, e.g. ATG Dynamo, Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, JBoss etc. ? Experience developing with at least one major search engine technology: Endeca, Google, Verity.? Well versed in RAD (rapid application development) and JAD (Joint Application Development) techniques. ? Will be comfortable working with senior IT and business Management (role requires excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills). ? A degree in Computer Science or engineering is required
