Research Scientist - Wafer Fab
SUMMARY
Work with team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop fabrication processes for III-N LEDs.
Self-starter, highly motivated, able to manage multiple projects with minimal guidance.
Able to make significant individual contributions while staying focused on the goals of the team.
Willing/able to learn and perform as necessary all tasks related to laser processing, which, as a minimum, includes: Dry and wet etching, metal and dielectric deposition, photolithography, mask layout and design, optical thin film design, electrical and optical device characterization, and SEM (and related techniques) analysis.
Work closely with device test engineers and scientists to develop test protocols and procedures.
Should have a strong background in vacuum technology and related areas.
Able to interpret and summarize data and communicate findings quickly to support 24x7 R&D operation.
Able to interpret results to support continuous process improvement.
Thrives in high-pressure, deadline-oriented atmosphere.
Must be able to lead by example.
Must have a "whatever it takes" attitude to get the job done
Be willing to perform tasks outside of normal job duties and past experience.
The right candidate will have the opportunity to lead product develop teams from epitaxial growth through chip fabrication and testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field is required.
0-2 years experience in semiconductor industry in manufacturing or R&D capacity.
Relevant work experience in processing/testing/characterizing III-N LEDs is desired but not mandatory.
