Quality/Reliability Engineer
The Quality/Reliability Engineer will be responsible to assure that the quality and reliability of Evergreen Solar Devens Factory produced modules and panels meets or exceeds both customer and company expectations. This Quality Engineer will implement the appropriate Quality Engineering tools and processes that will be used across the factory to achieve the desired result. Specific responsibilities include: Analyze and drive recommendations for corrective actions based RMA data, field infancy failure analysis data, and supplier quality results. Working with Corporate Quality, install and operate the Devens Failure Analysis Lab. Working with Corporate Quality, monitor the reliability of Devens produced Solar Panels. Work across Evergreen Solar and EverQ factories to share learning's based on "end-of-line" audits and field failure data. Drive cause-effect analysis between internal and external failures. Evaluate product data for short and long term trends. Partition customer issues between product, process, supplier and work within the organization to develop root cause closure plans. Provide actionable feedback to Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Supplier Management on quality issues. Drive a cross-functional Customer Satisfaction Management Forum process. Using feedback from Sales and customers, develop and deploy product workmanship and materials specifications in cooperation with process engineers and R&D materials specialists. The successful candidate will have the following: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Operations Research with 8-10 years experience or Master's degree in similar fields with 3-5 years experience. Direct experience in commercial/industrial quality manufacturing, preferably in the electronics or aerospace industries is required. Must demonstrate ability to manage complex quality issues where extremely high quality and long-life reliability are essential. Previous experience with assembly processes and process/product controls are also required. Strong analytic, statistical, written and verbal communication skills are required. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is preferred.
