Position Summary

The Quality Manager is a key player in assuring that the company meets production quality goals and quality commitments to customers.   He focuses on product quality and on improving working practices within the company.  The aim is to achieve a high standard of products and services that satisfies  customer requirements and Company goals.

 

The Quality Manager develops and puts in place systems to manage the quality of SVTronics’ products and services. He is responsible for monitoring the quality management systems and reporting to Management on their effectiveness.

 

Primary Responsibilities: Define, set up, and maintain quality control procedures, policies, and documentation consulting with staff to put plans into effect Represent the company to customers for quality related issues. Inspect, sample and test products and production processes Maintain and update existing ISO documentation Supervise Quality Control staff in carrying out tests, checks, and inspections Maintain a company Equipment Calibration Log and assure that equipment calibration is current Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements for external suppliers Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product change requests (ECOs) are investigated and resolved Administer quality planning tools to ensure the quality of new products and product changes. Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation, including quality, environmental, and health/safety standards Identify relevant quality-related training needs and train QC Inspectors Write technical and management system quality reports Work with customers' auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications Establish standards of service for customers and clients Drive preventative and corrective actions throughout the company to improve quality. Monitor company performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports. DHR for all medical devices Responsible for Risk Management and FIMA Reports

Qualifications and Requirements Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 requirements and procedures Thorough understanding of ISO 13485 Requirements and procedures Extensive knowledge of quality inspection and reporting methods

·         Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation Familiarity with SMT and Through-hole components and PCB design requirements

·         Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate to all levels of the company Understanding of Electro-static Discharge precautions and procedures

·         Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Access and the Internet.

·         Lead internal Auditor for ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485

Experience: Prior experience as a Quality Inspector Proven experience in management and in Quality Control in electronics manufacturing Experience working with all forms of electronic and/or electromechanical manufacturing documentation including BOMs, Assembly Drawings, IC and other component specifications Work experience in an Electronic Assembly manufacturing facility

Additional Technical Skills and Experience (a plus): Familiarity with 13485 Certification requirements

·         Familiarity with the Six Sigma Quality Methodology

·         Technical or Engineering degree

·         Experience in an electronic fabrication and assembly environment is a plus

·         IPC 610 Certified Trainer

·         IPC J-STD Certified Trainer
