Quality Assurance Engineer
Cooper Bussmann, a division of Cooper Industries, Inc., manufactures a wide variety of fuses for the electrical, electronics and transportation industries. The Cooper Bussmann, Goldsboro, NC, manufacturing facility has an opening for a plant Quality Assurance Engineer. Responsibilities for this position include: Oversee all product testing as required by Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Production. Direct and supervise the quality assurance testing of samples from production. Provide liaison with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing on product assembly and test issues. Assist with process documentation to support consistent manufacturing operations. Responsible for yield and performance testing and data analysis relative to new and existing products. Develop and recommend procedures to facilitate design and or process changes for improved product quality, performance and reliability. Compile data and issue reports as necessary. Make information available as required to identify problem areas and drive corrective actions development. Perform internal audits of the quality system. Responsible for knowledge of sampling methods, military specifications, UL standards and files, ISO9001, and TS16949 as well as customer specific requirements as applicable. Provide the focal point for customer reported quality issues to analyze returned product, develop appropriate corrective action and provide feedback to the customer. Some travel required to assist in resolution of customer issues. A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering, with 3 to 5 years of experience in quality engineering. Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications is required.
