Job Responsibilities: Project Manager - Electrical EquipmentThis position is accountable for managing medium to large projects ranging from 200K - 500K, based on project complexity. The individual in this position manages complete job process from order clean-up to financial close out and is customer primary contact at Square D. Responsible for building/maintaining customer relationship with key decision makers and creating a competitive advantage in the market place to ensure future business through superior project management. Utilize advanced knowledge of Schneider Electric products, applications, features and benefits. Compares and differentiates both Schneider Electric and competitor products and provides the information to customers. Analyzes, recommends solutions for, and negotiates specific, complex customer application problems in all phases of the project management process. Independently creates solutions in response to customer problems using appropriate application of Schneider Electric product and knowledge of the industry. Provides advanced technically viable, value-engineered options and design solutions to meet customer needs in order to reach price attainment. Responsible for making decisions by considering complex alternatives that create accurate technical solutions. • Understands, analyzes, documents and communicates contractual, technical, and commercial terms and conditions. • Responsible for understanding and determining customers' critical path and negotiating delivery based on plant capacity and customer requirements.• Reviews engineering specifications and suggest product substitutions as needed. • Develops submittals for customer review and approval. • Provides technical support to resolve issues. • Manage project through the use of strong facilitation, mediation, and negotiation skills in order to meet customer needs. • Identifies key project milestone dates then tracks and manages the approval drawing process by coordinating with customers and plant personnel to meet customer on-site dates. Identifies and initiates change orders based on modified customer drawings, incorporating appropriate price adjustments and price re-negotiations when necessary. • Utilizes information to analyze discrepancies and takes appropriate action to resolve them to the customer's satisfaction. • Responds to questions requiring interpretation and provides guidance and solutions to problems involving technical product knowledge. • Anticipated potential issues and proactively seeks resolution.• Builds strong relationships with distributors and key customers creating a competitive advantage for the company.• Responsible for directing the coordination of customer/plant meetings, inspections and job site visits. • Coordinate with Field Service so that they can provide quotation assistance, inspections, start-up, job site visits, warranty, and other technical support. • Ensures that post shipment, warranty and financial issues are resolved. • Accountable for settling claims within approved financial authority ($500 or less), coordinates claims resolution process for higher dollar claims with appropriate individuals.• Understands and drives key business measures.• Advanced operating knowledge of electronic software/hardware tools. Quickly learns new tools and technology through training. • Serves as a resource/trainer for products and/or project management processes. • Provides coaching to internal and external customers, mentors peers and leads focus group/teams to improve services and represents group on cross segment teams. • May lead the activity of the immediate work group, serving as a resource to assist with work direction, difficult projects, etc. • Creates and implements solutions to improve Schneider Electric systems/processes.• Responsible for continuing education/development through utilization of the company training programs and/or external programs including higher degree/certification.This position requires a 4-year engineering degree in ME/EE/IE, or equivalent experience. Plus 6-10 years industry experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi task, work in a fast paced environment and have time management skills. In addition, a good working knowledge of computer operating systems, specifically Windows XP. Standard business application software experience to include: MS Office, MS Excel and MS Access.
