Project Engineer - supplier/purchasing

Our client, a leader in electrical components, is seeking a Project Engineer with 5-10 years in purchasing and manufacturing environment experience to join there TEAM!!

In this role, you will assist engineering and marketing in product development workshops/kaizen events, analyze multi-plant purchases and supplier base and develop key strategies to leverage this companies purchasing power.   Reduce RAW and WIP material inventories, implement cost improvement projects, work with overseas vendors to ensure quality product and timely deliveries.  Use cost/benefit analysis expertise in planning and/or making proposals.

Requirements include:  4 year degree in business, engineering, or related field required!  Minimum of 5 yrs of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, serving multi-plant operations required!  Purchasing of molded parts, fabricated and machined parts a must!!

Import/export experience dealing with overseas vendors, purchasing/inventory planning, and plant operations a plus!  Excellent communicator with strong computers skills including MS Office, Excel, Word, Internet explorer - web experience needed!

50% travel is required!
