This position will serve as the liaison for the coordination, execution, and administration of technical contracts for completion to cost, schedule, and specifications.  Directs the total scope of assigned projects to maximize profits and to further the best interests of the company.





Essential Functions:  Serve as main customer contact and liaison between LaBarge and assigned customers. Manage customer relationships and coordinate all customer support activities.Provide detailed, accurate and timely information to customers regarding their inquiries relating to expediting, scheduled shipping dates, pricing, availability, order processing and credit processing.  Pro-actively alert the customer of any issues (delivery, quality, cost, etc.) and propose solutions where possible.  Track customer complaints/returns and ensure timely and proper corrective action is taken. Develop a strategy (with support from functional managers) to effectively service each customer, while preserving the interests of LaBarge.  This includes material management (minimize inventory while meeting customer needs), production planning, quality assurance, etc.Analyze margins monthly and provide feedback to materials and operations to increase margins.  Follow-up on variances to ensure timely resolution. Maintain and communicate performance metrics both internally and to assigned customers.  Carefully monitor and manage performance to agreed upon metrics and develop action plans when required to improve performance.Actively work to develop and propose ideas to the customer to reduce cost, improve quality, shorten lead times, etc.Review customer purchase orders against quotations and resolve any discrepancies prior to processing the order.  Lead new product meetings with other internal LaBarge departments to ensure timely and effective support of new products. Process and negotiate customer purchase order and engineering changes, and submit cost/delivery impacts to customers.  Follow-up to ensure that all excess/obsolete inventory and other costs are recovered from the customer in a timely manner.Coordinate between customer and operations functions to eliminate or minimize problems of non-conforming hardware.Work with manufacturing teams to ensure that product is built to customer specifications and quality expectations and delivered on time. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preferably engineering, operations or supply chain.Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with some experience working in the electronics industry.Significant experience in managing customer relationships including quoting and negotiations, as well as delivery and quality performance management.Skilled in inventory management techniques (kanban, bonding, safety stock, etc.).Demonstrated problem solving ability involving many variables and limited standardization.Leadership skills—people management, meeting facilitation, presentation, and customer support.Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers and project company image to attract business.Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving.Working knowledge at an intermediate level of computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with people at all levels and functions inside and outside LaBarge, Inc.
