Product Support Engineer
We are the North American sales and support office of a prominent European supplier of industrial imaging products. Our specialty is high-end industrial cameras for use in machine vision, medical, and military applications. For over 15 years, our products have made the difference in complex OEM systems. We are looking for someone who will increase the growth of our North American business. Our North American office (located north of Boston) is small but has been growing rapidly in the last few years.

We are looking for a dedicated individual with the right combination of a technical background and customer focus to wear a lot of hats and help expand our business. The right person will have a solid technical foundation that can be applied to industrial machine vision products and applications. In addition, the right person will have the ability and desire to develop the necessary business savvy to further the sales and marketing success of our company. In exchange we can offer room to grow in a casual atmosphere that is both challenging and rewarding.

‘Product Support Engineer, USA’
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Must become fully proficient on technical aspects of our product line
· Support sales team through all phases of customer creation, including visits to prospective and existing customer sites
· Handle customer technical support, troubleshooting and problem solving
· Handle customer repairs either within local lab or coordinate repairs with our factory.
· Work with leads and prospects to determine the best product for their application
· Sustain and support inventory of demonstration and evaluation equipment
· Manage Trade show technical requirements, setup, and booth duty
· Account management with some existing strategic accounts
· Sales, marketing, and business assistance as required
· International travel up to 15%
· Domestic travel up to 25%
Experience:
· 2-4 years of professional experience is required
· Prefer 2 years of related experience in industrial imaging or machine vision systems
· Experience in medical or defense imaging systems is a big plus
· Candidates with experience in vision components (optics, lighting, software, etc.) or with strong engineering experience will also be considered
Education:
· Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering with a preference for Electrical Engineering
Skills:
· Technically grounded yet commercially capable
· Self-propelled yet able to work as part of a sales team and follow direction
· Entrepreneurial and more comfortable at smaller firms, not big companies
· Well organized, responsible and trustworthy
· Pleasant personality and customer-focused attitude
· Ability to diagnose complex technical problems and communicate solutions clearly over the telephone, via email and in person
· Comfortable presenting technical information to engineers or executives at large companies
