Product Marketing Manager

Responsibilities:
In this key position, you will develop and maintain an understanding of the carrier market, including carriers and their CPE suppliers (OEMs and ODMs), and the opportunities for Atheros products in this market segment. Develop excellent working relationships with influential people at CPE vendors and ODMs. Direct the development of market requirements for WLAN product line, including product strategy, definition, and requirements analysis for the carrier broadband market. Manage the entire product line life cycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities. Identify, define, and track customer requirements for new features and new products. Prioritize and manage the product development roadmap. Work with Engineering to define product requirements, development budgets, and development schedules. Provide technical support material for the Sales team, including BOM analysis, product presentations, and competitive analysis, as necessary and required.

Qualifications:
BSEE or an equivalent degree minimum.
MSEE degree preferred. 
Minimum of 5 years of product management/planning and product marketing experience in a semiconductor and/or networking systems company. Strong background in one or more of the following areas is preferred: wireless products, DSL Gateways, Set Top Box platforms, LAN networking equipment, communication chip design, and embedded software development. Applicant must have experience in bringing new products to market and/or significantly increasing market share of existing products. Applicant must possess strong WiFi technical and product management experience. Must have demonstrated experience of how to investigate, uncover, and execute key programs at target ODMs. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively across all functional departments. Applicant must have strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a customer-focused, high energy attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
