Product Manager - Handsets and OEMs
Job Description
This Product Manager will have day-to-day ownership responsibilities for the Firethorn Mobile Wallet offering including requirements definition, managing the requirements through the software development lifecycle, facilitating requirements conversations with carrier partners and working with Marketing to communicate release features to external stakeholders.
The position requires close and constant interaction with development team leads, carrier partners, business development, sales and existing customers. This position will drive product functionality related to Firethorn's carrier and handset partners. This position will also work closely with the carrier business development group and the OEM relations team to communicate handset product direction and vision outward.
Key Job Responsibilities:
. Drive business and functional requirements definition for wireless operator and handset product opportunities.
. Create and deliver demonstrations of product features to carriers, handset manufacturers, marketing, sales, business development, architecture, quality assurance, professional services and customer service teams.
. Create and distribute release notes and release communication info to internal stakeholders and external entities.
. Assist Marketing on release feature positioning and pricing.
. Ensure all enhancement requests from carriers, handset manufacturers, customers, partners, sales, trade shows, research are tracked and prioritized constantly with other Firethorn product opportunities.
. Ensure feedback from business development, sales, mobile commerce partners, trade shows, and competitive analysis in incorporated into the product pipeline and release delivery process.
. Develop a deep understanding of Firethorn's competitive products, implementing features and creating positioning papers to put Firethorn into a winning position.
. Deliver product expertise to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners as appropriate.

Skills/Experience
. Minimum of five years experience in Product Management
. Minimum of five years of carrier and/or handset experience required
. Deep understanding of carrier networks, product families, handsets, differentiators preferred
. Previous experience maintaining successful partnerships with wireless carriers and/or handset manufacturers.
. Knowledge of internet software development in an ASP environment is preferred
. Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Additional Skills
. Extensive experience in product management processes and methodologies.
. Aptitude for identifying and communicating customer needs
. Ability to work and succeed under limited supervision and guidance
. Effective internal communications - ability to communicate with all parts of the company adapting to different personalities and situations
. Effective external communications -must be capable of communicating directly with customers and prospects
. Effective time management - ability to manage several projects at the same time with tight deadlines
. Ability to work in a very fast paced and constantly changing environment
Education Requirements
