Principal Software Engineer

 The candidate must have experience with: · Microcontrollers · Emdedded systems · Xscale processors · Networking protocols · Audio and Video protocols (VOIP / SIP / IAX2 ) The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of coding standards, documentation and the software development lifecycle that is required. The candidate will serve as the lead in-house engineer in the development of server and firmware software from the design phase, through the field-sustaining phase. We are looking for a person who is comfortable in a small team environment with manufacturing and other engineering disciplines such as hardware and mechanical, and must be able to work with internal and external contract developers. The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills—oral, written and presentation. Our Manhattan offices are centrally located, comfortable and light-filled. The atmosphere is collegial and relaxed. While the job is demanding, the stress is kept to a minimum. It is an attractive working environment.
