Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an innovative, hands-on principal mechanical design engineer with experience leading mechanical design and development work on strategic projects and key proposals.

Responsibilities

 

•create conceptual designs of novel products and lead efforts to design and develop products and systems

•  determine causes of and develop solutions for complex technical problems and lead efforts to implement solutions

•  identify and track key technology trends and developments in the general area of mechanical engineering, and specific areas of mechanical systems and cooling systems design, analysis and test

•  provide technical expertise in the areas of mechanical design, structural analysis and test, and cooling system analysis, design, and test

•  offer direction and mentorship for mechanical engineers and designers

 

Requirements

 

•  MSME plus a minimum of 10 years of related mechanical design experience with proven track record in mechanical product/system design and development

•  proficiency in the use of FEA (stress/deflection, modal, and thermal) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools

•  proficiency in 3D solid modeling based mechanical design

•  solid analytical problem solving skills

•  demonstrated knowledge of the product development process

•  proficiency with project management software

•  ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers and suppliers, and outside agencies

•  occasional travel

•  medical device experience helpful
