Principal Accountant

BASIC FUNCTION
Performs accounting assignments in areas such as accounts receivables, accounts payable, property accounting and general accounting. Develops, implements and/or maintains one or a combination of general accounting systems. Prepares, reviews, verifies and approves transactions and journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts. Provides record and back-up schedules of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. Balances books periodically. Collects and analyzes financial data and prepares and/or reviews various financial statements, records and reports. Maintains receipts and disbursement reports. Assist the Treasury team in following up on major account receivables. Identifies components of income and expense that are contained within operating units statements.May interpret reports and records for managers. May design, modify, install and/or maintain general accounting systems.

GENERAL TECHNICAL SKILLS
• Effectively respond to management requests for information and analysis
• Strong analysis skills, curiosity to research issues, willingness to expand breadth of knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

EDUCATION
• Accounting degree or related discipline
• CPA preferred

EXPERIENCE
• 3 years at large Accounting firm or 3 years finance or accounting experience at the Staff Accountant level or equivalent, preferred
• Experience in project accounting in an engineering or construction company, preferred
• Supervisory experience, preferred
• Must be proficient in Excel and Word
• SAP experience preferred
