Manage the development process for new connectors through initial design concepts up to the point of released production at a manufacturing site. Key Responsibilities: - Lead Simultaneous Engineering teams comprised of Development Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and business representatives. - Create manufacturing plans for new product designs. - Direct and personally review the financial analysis of new business opportunities - Obtain Capital Expenditure approvals - Oversee the development of quality control plans - Track project expenses - Arrange for production of prototype samples - Oversee the preparations for production materials - Manage the initial production arrangements for new products - Manage the transfer of the production process to the long term manufacturing site (frequently at international locations such as China). - Track project performance metrics such as actual manufacturing costs, tooling efficiencies and quality measures. - Maintain project documentation including timelines, action item listings and status reports. - Resolve problems as needed to address customer needs. - Assist with the supervision of staff engineers. - Lead manufacturing process improvements and innovations using new technologies. Required Qualifications: -BS in Engineering, Science or equivalent technical education. -Experience in project management. -Experience with New Product Development is preferred. -Good working knowledge of connector manufacturing processes (stamping, molding, plating and assembly) . -Demonstrated ability to provide effect project leadership within a cross-functional team. -Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize. -Strong interpersonal & negotiating skills. -Excellent oral and written communication skills demonstrated by the ability to communicate across all levels within and outside of the organization. -Strong analytical skills and attention to details. -PC proficient, including Excel, Word, MS Project, Power Point, and MRP systems. -Good understanding of Six Sigma principles If interested, please apply online at http://track.jobviper.com/ViewJob.asp?id=552258-3-913 Contact Information Click here to see all “Tyco Electronics” opportunities Visit our web site to learn more about Tyco Electronics EMAIL THIS JOB TO A FRIEND
