Optical Calibration Lab Manager
SphereOptics, located in Southern NH, seeks a Calibration Laboratory Manager to help us continue driving our business forward. The candidate must have the ability to apply measurement science, mathematics and physics to develop, document and maintain calibration systems, procedures and methods for optical, physical, environmental and test equipment in our calibration laboratory   General Duties:•    Maintain calibration laboratory and/or departmental accreditation and quality systems. •    Evaluate/negotiate customer metrology requirements.•    Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures. Recommend calibration methods.•    Use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes. •    Conduct technical audits of the calibration laboratory to verify traceability of standards and compliance with published standards and guidelines.•    Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes.•    Able to modify calibration procedures by determining metrology requirements from manufacturer's manuals, laboratory methods, or system requirements.•   Enter calibration results into calibration tracking/documentation computer system. Work with equipment operators, engineers, and other technicians in the proper operation and selection of test and measurement equipment.    Major Requirements Summary:   Strong physics or optics background. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access) and Windows XP operating system. Familiar with these regulations: cGMP, ISO 9001, and ISO 17025, NIST and NPL Calibration Standards.   Perform job functions under limited supervision in laboratory, production areas, clean room, or test environments. Perform calibrations and measurements traceable to national measurement standards using appropriate reference standards. Test and measurement equipment range from general-purpose instruments to custom built complex optical systems. A high level of accuracy and precision is required   Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Physics or Optics or Math.
