Navigation / Positioning Software Engineer (All Levels) - Silicon Valley

In order to drive our next phase of growth in GPS and position location technologies, we are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our gpsOne engineering and technology teams.

You will participate in the specifications, design, development and test of Qualcomm's hybrid (GPS + terrestrial) positioning and navigation systems. The work may involve both the client and server side of the gpsOne client/server architecture. As a result, both embedded and desktop software development experience is desired. Responsibilities include the development of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems - i.e., GPS, Galileo, Glonass, Compass, etc.) and wireless network measurement acquisition and processing algorithms and software, as well as data management solutions.

You will also participate in systems engineering, standards development, and interfacing with customers. This team position involves coordination and interfacing among several technology and system test groups, and requires contributions at all technical levels. Solving systems issues with other groups is one of the everyday tasks.


Skills/Experience
* 5+ years of experience in the commercial software development environment (client and/or server)
* GNSS, wireless positioning, navigation data analysis and modeling skills
* Experience designing, developing and testing software for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS)
* Experience with embedded C/C++ on real time OS and/or Unix, Windows software engineering
* Familiarity with applied mathematics, statistics, linear algebra, numerical methods, physics
* Familiarity with system modeling and optimization
* Familiarity with wireless communications and digital signal processing theory and practice
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills


Additional Skills
* Previous experience with GPS, navigation and positioning technology (estimation, Kalman Filtering) is desired
* Terrestrial positioning methods (TOA, TDOA, WiFi, RSSI, etc)


Education Requirements
Required: Master's, Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
