Memory System Design Engineer

One of Micron’s growth strategies is to develop memory systems products in addition to the memory components. While developing solid-state drives (SSDs) and other flash based storage systems, development and implementation of advanced control, wear leveling, and ECC/chipkill techniques is an essential part of this strategy. As a Memory System Design Engineer at Micron, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: System level hardware design and architecture ASIC specification and design Firmware development in C or assembly FPGA prototyping CAD tool operation and basic support Develop advanced concepts and algorithms for flash storage system speed and reliability Model through software development Validation in FPGA Implementation in flash controller Debug new hardware in complex test environments Assist in development of initial firmwareSuccessful candidates for this position will have: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical / engineering role in product development / R&D Excellent communication and presentation skills High degree of self-initiative and ability to think and act independently as well as on a project team Proven problem solving skills and techniques “Out of the box” thinking ability Programming skills: C/C++/Python/Perl Design skills: Verilog/Cadence/Spice simulation Matlab or other modeling experience Experience with debuggers and emulators Ability self support CAD tools Knowledge of ATA, SATA, SAS, PCIe a plus Knowledge of Linux or Windows system level drivers a plusEducation:A BS or MS in Electrical Engineering required.
