Mechanical Engineer, South San Jose

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: 1.Will have demonstrated advanced knowledge of and skill in using Solid Works and AutoCAD design tools.2.Both independently and in support of others, will have participated in the successful design of a new fully automated, load-locked vacuum deposition tool, intended to serve the Disk Drive Thin Film Head and related process intensive markets. 3.Both independently and in support of others, will design upgrades and product improvements for our tools, from the 2480 and 602 product families.4.Will participate in the execution or review of various Component (e.g. sputter source, throttle valve, etc.) design projects, as required.6. Broad experience designing complex vacuum deposition and automated substrate handling systems. Direct experience with automated sputter deposition tools used to process AlTiC, Silicon or similar 6" Ø and 8" Ø substrates will be a plus. 2.Experience generating conceptual drawings and/or ideas as solutions to problems.3.Experience detailing system and sub-system designs. Proficiency with Solid Works essential.4.Ability to use theoretical principles to arrive at production-worthy designs.5.Demonstrated understanding of engineering design and documentation standards.6.Success incorporating the requirements of design for manufacturability and design for service into final product designs.7.Ability to work in a small company environment and wear multiple hats, as required. 8.BSME degree or equivalent. Minimum 4 years experience in a design engineering role. Relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience will be considered.Good communicator (written and verbal),Graduate students do not apply.
