Load Systems International Inc. a manufacturer and distributor of wireless weighing systems for cranes and lifting applications with operations in Quebec City, Houston (Texas) and Dubai (United Arab Emirates) has an immediate opening for an experienced, take charge Mechanical Engineer.
Reporting to the Research & Development / Engineering Manager and working in a fast paced, high growth, dynamic work environment, the Mechanical Engineer will:
· Analyze the mechanical aspects of project and establish the study and working plans (scope, budget, planning, risk analysis, FMEA, technical development, prototyping, test plans, etc.)
· Integrate cross-functional teams for product development, research, product improvement and cost reduction projects
· Validate designs and solutions using CAD tools, numerical simulations and prototyping
· Develop custom mechanical applications for specific customer projects
· Participate actively in product related problem solving and improvement activities (operations, technical support, customer service, kaizen, “custom” engineering process, etc.)
· Work with sub-contractor, measure progress and evaluate results
· Prepare the technical documentation (specifications, drawings, procedures, etc.) of the projects under his responsibilities
· Integrate LSI quality objectives and criteria into his work
· Work in conjunction with all team members to reach corporate objectives
Required knowledge and experience:
· Mechanical Engineer Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
· 5 to 10 years of relevant experience
· Accomplishments that reflect teamwork, integrity, accountability and speed
· Assets :
o Design experience in the crane and lifting applications industry (or similar industries)
o Design experience in load monitoring devices (load cells, load pins, etc)
o Bilingual (French and English)
Required skills and abilities:
· Superior creativity, problem solving and analysis skills
· Team worker and great communicator
· Ability to anticipate problem areas or issues well in advance and then to take appropriate action to mitigate the
· Respect of tight deadlines
· Client oriented attitude (internal and external clients)
