Materials Project Manager

Job Summary:

 

The major functions of the Materials Project Manager includes supply analysis, efficiency benchmarking, project planning, process design, development, implementation and other related tasks as required.  This individual will be responsible for the development of tools and common processes to measure and report overall supply chain and materials effectiveness across multiple locations.  Measure results of implemented changes which include streamlining tools and processes when necessary to facilitate effective measurement.  Assist in the quarterly, planning process for inventory levels, material spend, material cost savings which includes calculation and forward looking projections, communication to the organization and tracking the results.

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated achievements in the EMS Industry and Supply Chain Management.

 

The Materials Project Manager will:

 

-  Direct, design and implement common processes and procedures to effectively manage materials;

 

-  Design, implement and communicate key metrics for materials management to staff, site and corporate management;

 

-  Act as a liaison between the Site Material Leaders and IT; and

 

-  Lead Corporate Material projects and initiatives.

 

The role requires a high level of flexibility and a proactive approach to change management.

 

The position is based at Suntron’s Corporate Headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.

 

Key Qualifications:

 

-  Bachelor’s degree in business and/or an equivalent combination of training, certification(s) and experience

-  5+ years related experience

-  Thorough understanding of the ERP system

-  Ability to influence without authority

-  Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills

-  Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills

-  Must be a self-starter, accountable, innovative and have the ability to travel 10%

-  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-  Strong computer skills including MS Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Access

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

-  Relational Data Design Background

-  VB, .NET, and/or SQL programming

-  Background in Six Sigma / Continuous improvement / lean

-  CPIM, CPM, or APICS certification
