Materials Coordinator

1. Responsible for all shipping and receiving of company products and materials

a. Process all incoming shipment receipts including receiving log entries, packing list entries, etc. into ERP system

b. Process all outgoing shipments via FedEx, UPS, DHL, or other shippers.

c. Process all international shipments and hazardous materials shipments

d. Process shipment documents including packing lists and shipper declaration.

2. Responsible for loading and unloading and organization of materials at inventory storage facilities.

3. Deliver internal packages as necessary

4. Carry out established inventory control procedures and/or practices within inventory storage facilities.

5. Purchase office supplies, company snacks and drinks.

6. Place orders for recurring lab supplies.

7. Document all receiving and shipment processes, practices and methods timely

8. Responsible for planning and executing inventory control functions for inventory sites and floor stock,  including:

a. Generating cycle count schedules according to ABC analysis

b. Perform cycle count activities such as counting, recording and adjusting

c. Store materials properly such as correct packaging, placement, labeling and physical conditions

d. Perform materials maintenance, such as reporting deterioration and remove obsolete items

e. Min-max management by reporting items that required purchasing attention

9. Recommend and set up necessary procedures for materials control processes, including transactions, adjustments, verifications, adjustments, etc.

10. Control and minimize materials cost variances by monitoring, correcting and reporting cost variances resulting from inventory transfers, issuance and adjustments.

 

 

General Job Requirements

 

1.  A minimum of 5 years of experience in materials handling/management and in domestic and international shipment logistics

2.  Demonstrated knowledge in materials management principles and able to show past achievements related to that knowledge.

3.  Must have proficient skills in computer operations, including good skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

4.  Good verbal and written communications skills

5.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

6.  Must be able to operate a manual forklift. (currently licensed to drive a forklift is a plus)

7.  Completion of inventory control class from APICS is a plus

8.  Completion of training in hazardous materials shipment courses and currently certified to process hazardous materials shipment related documentation is a plus

9.  High school graduate or equivalent with GED
