Manufacturing engineer

Trimble is seeking an enthusiastic and creative, mid to senior level Manufacture Engineer. This position entails design, development, and implementation of circuitry used for an in-vehicle device for tracking and mobile asset management purposes. These devices depend on a broad range of wireless communication protocols to accomplish their tasks. Required Skills: - 5 to 10 years manufacturing experience in electronic manufacturing, preferably for electronic device product used in harsh environments applications. - Experience with bill of material, assembly, process, configuration, packaging, label and engineering change order (ECO) implementation issues between engineering team and contract manufacturing (CM) partners. - Experience in Production manufacturing, Pilot Line, and/or process engineering - Understanding FCC, CE, IPC67, and ISO standards as they relate to harsh environments and heavy machinery equipment design required. Evaluate ESD handling, ergonomic and safety processes at contract manufacturers. - Experience in the development of volume manufacturing methods and fabrication processes. - Must possess strong and hands-on manufacture engineering capabilities to work on projects without supervision. Provide DFM analysis during early stages of design. Coordinate DFM feedback from CM to engineering team. - Excellent engineering and manufacture skills. Monitor ECO, quality yields and quality issues. Participate in improvement of quality yields and provide resolution of quality issues. .Desired Skills: - Qualify production of new product releases. Analyze contract manufacturer capacity compared to product forecast - An understanding of IP routing and Wireless infrastructure Position Requirements: You will be functioning as a member of a cross disciplinary team, and previous exposure to elements of embedded hardware design will be a strong plus. A BS degree in EE, CS, or a related field is required. Preference will be given to those applicants who demonstrate the ability to function well as a team member. In the initial employment phase the candidate has to be prepared to spend a significant time traveling to and staying at other company R&D locations.
