Tyco Electronics is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.  Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Test  will be responsible for all overal test operation.  Directs and supervises activities of test engineers for the Torrance, Ca Facility.  Developes long and short term test plans to meet customer and company demands.  Coordinates efforts with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Production, Materials, etc. to assure specification complainant products are produced.  Inacteracts with customers on test/performance related issues.  Sets and enforces product documenttion standards for products released to production.  Develops and recommends general test department operating policies and establishes operating procedures.  Defines, documents, analyzes, performs and interprets developmental tests for new and /or modified products or product components.  Investigates and resolves operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.  Provides technical support and advice to other engineering groups.  Acts as a liaison with suppliers and to establish or modify specifications for purchased items.  Devises and applies testing procedures.  Participates in development and maintenance of internal quality control and reliablity programs.. As required, interviews and recruits new engineers to support growth areas of the facility.   Responsible for assuring and maintaining the latest and most efficient manufacturing technologies consistent with the needs of the facility.  Supports and initiates Six Sigma and Lean projects to drive continuous improvements objects.  4 year Engineering Degree Required prefer BSEE;  12 or more years of experience, M.S with 10 or more years of experience.  Prior Manufacturing Engineering experience required; Must be proficient with Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
