Lead Electrical Engineer

Integrity Staffing Group is currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer for an exciting assembly and testing expansion facility in the Metro Detroit area.  Our customer produces engineered rechargable lithium ion battery solutions for various demanding applications.  The company specializes in high power and large format cells and batteries. Previous experience with the design and production of lithium ion batteries a large plus!

The position is a high profile/high responsibility position reporting directly to the Site Manager. This will be a visible position within the company as well as interfacing with customers and potential customers. The facility will service all Sales efforts in North America.

 

The position will have full direct responsibility for the following operational aspects:

Test and qualification of battery systems

Generating test protocols including detailed instruction sets and test equipment and procedure specification

Supervise on a day to day basis, technicians and junior engineers in construction, testing and qualification of battery systems.

Assist in troubleshooting batteries as required.

Maintain appropriate records of tests directly or indirectly (thru subordinates)

Establish procedures and methods and recording keeping as required and in accordance with product integrity, safety and health and quality.

Establish logistical requirements to meet production thruput requests (required parts, personnel, equipment,etc)

Train junior engineers and technicians with the objective of their becoming proficient in battery testing and troubleshooting.

Make field service calls as required (initial employment period)

Participate in determination of future requirements for equipment, space and utilities to meet expansion needs.

Utilize Autocad as necessary to provide test and customer product data and information requirements.

Support Sales and Marketing

         Meet with prospective customers in order to provide technical direction for Sales and Marketing

          Consultation as requested on system requirements and costing

Oversee/Assist in Battery system design using internal and external resources

 

Initially, the position will be “hands-on�. The Lead Electrical Engineer actively participate in personnel hiring of subordinates (junior engineers and technicians), actual battery testing, troubleshooting and qualification, maintenance of test equipment,  expansion planning  and filed service as required.

 

Qualified candidates must posses a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of experience including a minimum of 5 years directly involved in electrical systems design and testing and at least 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
