JOB DESCRIPTION
Headed by David Lam, best known for founding Lam Research Corporation (NASDQ 100-LRCX), Multibeam Systems Inc. is well funded by venture capital, NIST, and SEMATECH.
Multibeam has developed an exciting new IC lithography technology. It is seeking a lead mechanical engineer with a proven project management background. Reporting to the Vice President – Engineering, you will play a key role in evaluating and guiding overall mechanical engineering development. This senior level engineering position is best suited for a hands-on leader with strong experience in designing and directing complex projects in e-beam lithography. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform professional mechanical engineering research, design, development, modification, and evaluation in support of Multibeam’s complex e-beam lithography engines and their mechanical components; Assess and provide guidance for design approaches to satisfy system requirements, design changes, process improvements or substitution of materials; Generate and/or direct layout/design activities and verify accuracy of final documentation; Analyze, select and specify components and equipment; Evaluate, diagnose, modify and repair existing components; Define problems and objectives; develop implementation of required changes and modifications; Design and conduct independent experiments or tests; Conduct and direct research, experiments and tests to measure performance, efficiency, costs and simplicity of a given solution. Oversee installation, setup, performance testing, and data analysis for experimentation; Develop schedules, estimates and costs for design areas of responsibility; Use industrial practices, components and know how to direct and implement designs and improve design times. Use your knowledge of machine practices, tools, instrumentation, fabrication practices and materials to develop timely cost effective solutions. Interface with Electronics, Lab and R&D to successfully complete projects; Design, plan, and direct complex projects and the major phases of product development; Devise, forecast and collaborate with Materials Procurement for manufacturing processes, supplier relations and management of timely, quality and cost-effective deliveries of parts and services;
· Devise and manage progress reports, budgets and schedules;
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· MS, BS or equivalent experience in a related engineering discipline required;
· 7+ years of applicable experience; with advanced knowledge of a particular aspect of design work;
· 3 years of project management experience;
· Previous experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry or e-beam lithography;
· Professional and persuasive communication and negotiation skills;
· Must be able to communicate with all levels of management;Organization and problem solving skills;
