Intermediate Engineer, Storage Validation--RAID

About the Job:

 

The Enterprise and Storage Division is a business unit within PMC addressing the enterprise and server storage markets. As an Intermediate Validation Engineer in System Validation, you will join a team of professionals in validating state-of-art System-on-Chip (SoC) devices with embedded MIPS processors, and their real-time firmware. In addition system software and drivers for the RAID storage solution will be validated. Reporting to the Manager, System Validation, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Assist in the development of a Functional Validation Test Plan (FTP) for a Raid product. This plan would encompass Driver Software and Middleware control Software.

· Assist in the development of the test automation strategy and implementation for execution of the FTP.

· Assist in the development of product interop and system test strategy for a Raid product.Utilize defect tracking tools to track validation efforts and product quality. Contribute to estimation of execution schedule of FTP.Isolate and help resolve complex software problems in embedded real-time systems.Assist in the construction and maintenance of a validation lab environment.Execute validation procedures.

 

Qualifications:

ʉۢ BSEE or BS Computer Science/Math or demonstrated comparable experience.5+ years of software/firmware system validation, validation for Storage Arrays, Storage Server or demonstrated comparable experience.Experience in storage validation such as SCSI, Fibre-Channel, SAS/SATA, RAID and/or enclosure managementExperience with defect tracking tools and processes.Effective communicator (verbal and written) of technical ideas. Willingness to set and meet deadlines.Highly motivated, sets personal goals, and achieves goals without supervision.

 

Desirable:MS Electrical Engineering or Computer Science/Math with emphasis in storage processing (preferred).Experience in storage protocol validation such as SCSI, Fibre-Channel, SAS/SATA, RAID and/or enclosure managementExperience with RAID/HBA and SAS/SATA/SCSI architecturesWorking knowledge of firmware implementation and validation.Knowledge of OS driver architectures in Windows/Linux
