Inside Sales Manager - Express Group

Job Purpose:Under the general direction of the Director, executes and monitors programs designed to increase Avnet's market share and profit margin. Provides training to, supervises, and assesses the job performance of direct sales employees. Implements new marketing programs and sales campaigns. Ensures adherence to all applicable policies and procedures. Recommends revisions to procedures and implements process improvements in order to enhance organizational effectiveness. Monitors and manages incoming phone calls and delegates same to appropriate parties. Increases sales productivity through effective management of hours worked and associated fixed payroll costs. DUTIES: Interviews and hires direct sales employees in accordance with current staffing and program needs, as well as existing budgetary constraints. Implements training programs intended to educate and train new and existing personnel on products, services, selling tools, and skills. Implements, audits, reviews, and revises, as necessary, policies and procedures to be utilized by the Express organization. Audits employees to ensure adherence to established attendance, tardiness, and standards of conduct policies and guidelines. Assists in the development of execution of local and corporate marketing programs. Compiles and analyzes statistics to asses impact of various programs. Initiates and coordinates marketing awareness campaigns, including call out and qualification activities. Assesses progress of call out campaigns by monitoring the following: the number of calls made, the quality of leads generated, and the number of requisitions generated. Apprises Express Management concerning the impact of such marketing campaigns. Modifies campaigns according to local market conditions. Compiles, audits, and prepares various reports to management concerning outbound sales efforts and marketing programs. Prepares sales forecasts based upon backlog and new shippable bookings. Compiles and analyzes operational statistics in order to assess organizational effectiveness and identifies process improvement opportunities. Establishes and sustains a positive and effective business relationship with vendors in order to promote and execute business program and activities, such as: training seminars for inside sales force; updates on products and services; expediting shipment of purchase orders; and payment of outstanding accounts payable accounts. Monitors performance and assists Sales & Marketing Reps and Customer Support Reps in obtaining debits from manufacturer/suppliers. Counsels and provides guidance to sales representatives concerning customer or administrative problems and issues. Assists representatives in effective time management in order to maximize their effectiveness in answering and completing all orders, quotes, and assignments. Monitors performance by compiling data concerning representatives' productivity, sales margins, and customer problems and complaints. Conducts regular staff meetings to review and monitor previous and current performance, plan resources for upcoming opportunities, and motivate via shared team members success stories. Manages and monitors sales and lead generation by inside sales representatives. Ensures tracking, dissemination, and maintenance of lead database. Acquires and assembles target client list in conjunction with program request, suppliers, Express management, etc. Monitors daily call volume and staffing implications or requirements; monitors and records training time off, breaks, lunch periods, etc. in order to optimize productivity.
