Hardware Development Engineer I
We are searching for a junior to mid-level design engineer for our Product Development Group, developing market leading products for the Network and Enterprise test and measurement market.
Initial responsibilities include:
Support activities related to research, development, design, and testing of new products in the areas of PCB hardware, firmware, and software. Assist senior engineers to ensure that product designs are able to pass all specified product requirements and requirements for safety, emissions, and immunity for regulatory compliance.Provide engineering support to sustain existing products. Resolve production-related engineering issues and ensure specifications are being met. Research and replace end-of-life components.Provide engineering support to Customer/Technical Services to duplicate and resolve product issues reported by external or internal customers. Perform logical problem solving and analysis; establish cause-and-effect relationships and determine root causes for issues reported. Capture lessons learned for future design as part of our Continual Improvement (CI) process.
This position will be based out of JDSU’s Camarillo, CA facility.
Required Qualifications
§ Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related Engineering field.
§ Proficiency with hardware and software design tools such as:
o MPLAB (in C and Assembly)
o Cadence Allegro
o Orcad
o Mentor Graphics PowerPCB
o Gerber viewer as well as design flow of PCB assembly is highly preferred.
§ Good verbal and written skills.
§ Strong analytical and problem solving skills and abilities.
