Intellon ICs are used to create instant networks, enabling PCs, broadband modems, set-top boxes, gaming consoles and audio/video devices to communicate instantly over existing power lines in the home. Our HomePlug AV ICs allow distribution of multiple HDTV streams over in-home powerlines. We are also a provider of lower bandwidth Spread Spectrum Carrier (SSC) ICs; to date we have shipped more than seven million of these command and control devices, with more coming into service every month.

Position: Hardware Design Engineer

 

Location: Ocala, Florida

 

Summary:

The Hardware Design Engineer designs and implements board-level reference design products and IC verification platforms. The candidate must possess hands-on experience in engineering processes, principles, methods and techniques as applied to product design and development. Work assignments are varied and require a broad range of engineering knowledge. The Hardware Engineer must interface independently with other development teams, engineers, consultants and subordinates.

Qualifications:

1.  BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology or equivalent.

2.  Minimum of three years hardware design experience.

3.  Experience in analog, digital and mixed signal design – RF design experience desired.

4.  Familiar with common engineering design tools: Schematic Capture (OrCAD), SPICE, PCB Layout (Cadence Allegro), MatLAB, etc.

5.  Experience with computer network architecture and systems preferred.

6.  Experience with UL and CE safety and/or FCC and CE emissions requirements, design techniques and compliance test methodologies a plus.

7.  Ability to learn a variety of application software programs such as database information systems, word processing and spreadsheet applications.  Working knowledge of email and the Internet.

8.  Must possess good analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

9.  Must possess good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

10.Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.  Second language desirable.

11.Ability to travel as required.
