Global Credit Director

Job Description:    Director of Credit, Smith & Associates

 

The Director of Credit for Smith & Associates is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast paced environment and can balance sound financial judgment with a strong sense of urgency.  The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in making fast paced, accurate credit decisions along with a good knowledge base in cash management.  Exposure to high-tech products or services, electronic commerce, international operations, and business-to-business distribution would also be a plus.  Working with peers in trading, marketing, and operations, the Director of Credit is a key resource in mitigating risk and managing cash flow throughout the organization.  The Director of Credit will oversee all Cash Management and Accounts Receivable matters worldwide.

 



 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Managing Accounts Receivable, including but not limited to, Credit and Collections;

Manage daily cash flow in the United States;

Monitor and provide guidance worldwide to foreign offices about appropriate cash flow;

Credit reviews of new and existing customers for the establishment and maintenance of appropriate credit limits;

Determination of uncollectible accounts;

Evaluate existing accounting policies, procedures and internal controls and initiate new procedures as required;

Manage a group 5 employees worldwide directly, and 1 indirectly

Spearheading special projects for the CFO, as needed.

 

Reports to:  CFO

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements: 

 

1.  A minimum of 10 years progressive experience in credit and collections.  Experience with rapidly growing and changing organizations preferred. 

2.  Bachelors of Business Administration or higher required

3.  Experience in the field of Distribution preferred. Electronics Distribution a plus.

4.  An achievement oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, volatile business environment and can balance urgency with sound financial judgement and control.
