In order to drive our next phase of growth in GPS and position location technologies, we are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our gpsOne engineering and technology teams.
In this position you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and test of embedded software within a very dynamic small group setting. You will work closely with other software, protocol, and software system engineers involved with highly sensitive market driven standalone and wireless-assisted GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems - i.e., GPS, Galileo, Glonass, Compass, etc.), Regional (SBAS, QZSS, IRNSS), Hybrid, and terrestrial based location technologies. Activities include high level software system and protocol design and implementation to support location estimation, interacting with CDMA, UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, WiMax, MediaFLO, LTE, and other wireless interfaces, for incorporation into mass market products.
Skills/Experience
Engineer with 3+ years prior relevant experience in location and/or wireless technology protocol and software development. You must be a team player who is capable of contributing at all technical levels. Knowledge of C/C++ programming on embedded microprocessor systems and experience with medium to large scale systems that run under a real time OS are required. The most qualified candidate should have a good understanding of OS concepts (i.e. Linux, WinMobile, WinCE, RTOS, BREW) and have prior experience with GPS and/or other position location protocol design and implementation. In particular, knowledge of RRC, RRLP, IS-801, SUPL, and other location based protocols and methods are highly beneficial.
Additional Skills
Understanding of CDMA, UMTS, WiFi, Bluetooth, WiMax, MediaFLO, and/or LTE wireless systems is a plus.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience
