Field Service/Final Test Technician/Engineer based in Wilmington, MA.

We offer an exciting growth opportunity for an individual with an AS in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or appropriate trade school training with 3-5 years of related experience. This contributor will become a key member of a team that tests, troubleshoots, installs and repairs industrial electronic systems both at our Wilmington facility and at our customers’ sites worldwide, primarily North America.

 

Scope of Job:  Wide variety of duties involved with design, production, installation and maintenance of ESI's cutting edge Electron Beam processors.  Set up, adjust and operate standard and custom-built electronic test instruments to measure performance of E-beam processor and sub assemblies.  Calibrate circuits, record test data and troubleshoot circuits from schematics.  Work closely with our Engineering department. Identify and record successful ISO and quality initiatives, improvements, and potential deficiencies. Assist in training customers and provides internal global customer support as well as at customer site in diagnosing malfunctions. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ISO directives and ESI's quality procedures.

Successful candidates should possess:AS in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or appropriate trade school training with 3-5 years of related experience. Military Class A training with appropriate courses in electronics and equivalent experience optional.  Excellent hands-on mechanical skills. Minimum one year experience in all aspects of mechanical, electrical assembly and repair. Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits and sub-systems.Minimum three years experience troubleshooting component level of electronic and electrical equipment. Working knowledge of electrical test equipment. Familiarity with PLC's, high voltage power supplies and/or vacuum systems, a plus. Knowledge of PC computers and MS Office or equivalent software. High degree of mechanical aptitude. Positive attitude, highly self motivated, self starter, and strong work ethic, desire to learn and be part of a strong team environment. Highly analytical, quick learner/thinker, resourceful, action oriented Keeps customers' needs at the forefront Effective communicator, verbal and written Problem solving and project management skills Travel requirement in the range of 30%-60%, possibly short notice.  Typical duration of trip ranges one day to three weeks.
