Field Service Engineer III
Seattle, WA - The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the overall service and repair of Olympus in vivo imaging instrumentation both in-house and within an assigned geographical area. Troubleshoots hardware, software and optical problems and must be a capable problem solver who develops effective solutions for complex problems. Under minimal supervision, this employee will inspect, service and repair research microscopy imaging equipment for which that employee has been trained. May obtain the assistance of more experienced personnel to solve extremely difficult or complex problems. May offer assistance to employees with less experience on occasion. Ensure the timely, professional, and effective response to customer service needs to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. Ensure the timely completion of proactive service such as preventive maintenance, counter-measures, software upgrades and general service and repairs. Provide estimates and repairs on non-warranty covered products and evaluate levels of warranty coverage for all models of microscopes and related SEG equipment. Responsible for all service parts requested by or assigned to him/her. Manage inventory in accordance with established requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Performance of these responsibilities shall be conducted in accordance with departmental and corporate guidelines in a manner that will ensure achievement of established goals and objectives. (ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL CONSIDERED) A minimum of 4 years experience providing comprehensive field based microscopy service and/or performing detailed optomechanical installations is required. Additional experience with digital scientific cameras and image analysis software would be preferred. Must be willing to travel and work on an unscheduled basis, including occasional weekends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must have good organizational skills and be reliable. Must be able to obtain a passport and travel internationally without restrictions. An Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology or the equivalent is required.
