Engineering Development Manager - Solar Cell Technology

Position Details

Thorough understanding of the material science related to the manufacture of epitaxial structures and tunnel junctions for multi junction III-V compound solar cells.

Manage the design and fabrication of thermally stable, radiation resilient and highly efficient triple junction solar cell configurations.

Assess and recommend the best combination of triple junction materials to maximize cell performance in highly concentrated light and over broad tracking angles.

Oversee and recommend improvements to epi growth, wafer fabrication and cell assembly techniques.

Familiarity with time-resolved photoluminescence, optical absorption, SEM, AFM, RHEED, XRD, CV, and electroluminescence instrumentation techniques and analysis

 

Required Qualifications

The candidate should have at least seven years experience managing the design, fabrication, calibration, and test of III-V multijunction compound semiconductor devices.

A preferred candidate has over ten years experience in the successful development and mass manufacture of triple junction GaAs, InGaP and AlGaAs solar cell configurations with a PhD or equivalent in material science or physics.
