We are looking for a Supplier Quality / Development Engineer (Electronics) to help us achieve our goals. You will be working within the Honeywell Automation and Controls, Process Solution Business Unit working on Supply Chain initiatives. This position will be based in based in North America.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Implementing activities within the Global Sourcing Team (CMT) to improve supplier quality, delivery, and performance for the assigned commodity areas in North America region.
- Lead the issue resolution and root-cause analysis processes associated with supplier quality issues.
- Lead PPAP and APQP product qualification activities associated with new parts, and re-qualify parts as part of supplier transition projects
- Utilize standard Honeywell processes to audit and approve new suppliers associated with the assigned commodity areas
- Expand commodity knowledge to maintain expertise and be a local expert for Sourcing, Engineering, and Marketing teams? Be an expert on Supplier Quality Tools
-Lead / Assist with roll out, training and implementation of Supplier Quality tools for suppliers
- Lead / Support efforts to fully realize cost savings opportunities
- Liaison effectively with Commodity Managers, other Supplier Quality Engineers, Program Managers, Quality Engineers, and Production Engineers to identify and fully satisfy requirements for quality engineering activities at North America factories
-Will include travel domestic and/or international (45%)
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related undergraduate degree required, Graduate degree preferred.
- At least 3-5 years work experience. As a key member of the Strategic Sourcing, identify, select, develop and manage global suppliers to produce printed wired assemblies, raw circuit cards, electronic components, box build, full functional testing, and other raw-materials and finished goods. Assess supplier process, quality and capacity capabilities. In conjunction with purchasing personnel conduct external supplier audits. Drive problem resolution for supplier quality issues, including on-site supplier development. Work with Quality Assurance, suppliers and Engineering to adjudicate quality issues, recommend corrective actions and follow up on supplier corrective action reports.
- Responsible for achieving business objectives: defect reduction, cost reduction, lead-time reduction, on-time delivery, and new supplier launches. Lead and support several concurrent projects and develop strong relationship within cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Manufacturing and Engineering.
- Must be willing to work in a result based, fast paced environment with minimal supervision. Will interface regularly with all levels of personnel within Honeywell and suppliers globally, hence exposure to other cultures will be a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification desired. Black Belt / Lean Expert certification preferred.
- Must be Bilingual with fluent English and native local language.
- Experience with ISO standards and supplier quality auditing.
- Working knowledge of QS, TS, and APQP standards and processes preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Must have demonstrated understanding of APQP and PAP processes and implementation.
- Fluent using basic quality tools.
- Project Management - will be expected to identify and implement projects with a high impact to the business. As such, should possess proven track record of successful leadership of high impact projects.
- Demonstrated capability in identifying Best Practices and leadership in successfully implementing these.
