We strive to find a good balance between "work hard" and "play hard" and take great pride in what we do.Position Profile Web Software Developer Participate in the design, development, technical implementation, and support of hosted energy management software with global reach. Work as a part of an international team responsible for development and implementation of software and services, as well as energy analysis, data distribution, and complex billing solutions for utilities and demand side customers. The successful candidate will have an exceptional knowledge of Internet-based (hosted) software over a broad range of technologies. While knowledge of specific technologies will be an asset, we're looking for candidates who deeply understand delivering software over the Internet, how to improve the customer experience, and are keen on new technologies such as AJAX and .Net but also understand and have worked with other technologies.Responsibilities & Key Tasks• Application design and development of software products and components in a Microsoft-centric environment• Design client-server and web applications with varying complexity of requirements• Work with customer team to specify, design, develop and test customer applications that meet the customer's objectives• Actively participate in requirements analysis, application design, project planning and scheduling. • Develop, implement and support enhancements to existing software products and client systems• Understand client business requirements in order to troubleshoot and debug complex software system issuesQualifications Essential• Experience in design, development, and implementation of software applications• Good software development process orientation, understanding of and experience with formal methodologies an asset• Ability to analyze complex data and develop recommendations and solutions• Experience designing and developing web-based applications with significant interaction with large databases• Excellent understanding of the basic Web technologies: HTML and Javascript• Deep understanding of server scripting - specific language is less important• Deep understanding of UI/database interaction - specific DBMS is less important• Excellent problem solving skills• Strong teamwork, communication and organizational skills• Strong customer and results orientation• Able to work with a diverse group of people in local and remote locations.• Minimum 3 years experience in web-based software developmentDesirable• Experience with Microsoft technologies including o C#/.Net o SQL Server o Established technologies such as STL, C++, ADO, COM/DCOM• Understanding of and experience with AJAX.
