Engineer Manager

Amphenol Alden Products has an immediate need for a Manager of Engineering.  This is a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to join one of the largest manufacturers of electronic interconnect products in the world and help the Alden Products subsidiary to continually develop innovative products and solutions.  The ideal candidate will be goal oriented, with a passion for results.   He or she will also exhibit strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to lead a world class team of engineers in the areas of product performance, manufacturability, cost targets and reducing time to market for new product development.

Reports to: Business Development Manager, Brockton Massachusetts

 

Start Date: As Soon As Possible

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

 Oversee the development of new products from concept through to productionLead, teach, coach, and mentor a strong team of design and manufacturing engineers along with supporting personnelManage problem solving and cost reduction initiatives related to product designLearn and implement best practices in design tools, techniques, and processesCoordinate engineering resources outside including the establishment of a strong design team in ChinaTravel to customers, vendors, and various manufacturing sites as needed

 

Primary Measurements of Success

 Design for Performance – achievement of all critical performance specifications Design for Cost – meeting cost targets set for each product launchedDesign for Manufacturability – achieving acceptable yields for each product launched with minimal revision changes after product releaseTimeliness – achievement of commitment dates for each milestone in our Product Development Cycle

 

Required Experience and Education:

 Minimum 5 years Engineering Management experience in connectors or cable assembliesMinimum 5 years Design Engineering experience with electro-mechanical productsDemonstrated track record of successful product developmentExperience with design tools such as solid modeling, FEA, DFMEA, MoldFlowBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
