Location: San Diego, CA 92111 Employment Type: Full Time, Employee Expected Duration: 5+ to 7 Years Pay Rate: 85,000.00 - 115,000.00 USD /year Reference Code: 1001135333 Embedded Software / Firmware EngineerSeeking a highly motivated Firmware Engineer to design and develop embedded software for innovative wireless sensing and control products. Looking for someone that has low end battery power equipment experience(8-32bit microcontrollers).  Involvement from initial product conception all the way through to production ramp. Embedded products include components such as mixed signal microcontrollers (8-32bit), wireless communication chips, USB microcontrollers, and CMOS image sensors. Job tasks may include:• Wired and wireless communication protocol design and development• Embedded image processing logic• Battery life optimizations• Analog sensor interfacing and analog output control• Display drivers• User interfaces• USB firmware and drivers• General performance enhancements• Contributions to high level circuit architecture and evaluation• Competitive analysis• Customer interfacing for technical issuesJob Specific Requirements:• On-the-job experience in C and assembly programming required.• Experience programming embedded systems (8-32bit microcontrollers).• Experience with common communication busses like I2C, SPI, UART, USB is required.• Should be comfortable with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, and circuit schematics.• Should have at least some experience in basic Windows programming• Familiarity with data acquisition systems, process control, image processing, or industrial automation is a plus.• Experience programming applications for Windows Mobile or Windows CE is also a plusMinimum Education & Work Experience:• Minimum education required is a B.S. in Software, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.• Work experience required is 3-12 years of post-college job experience in a relevant field.• Must have completed work on at least one product that was taken to production.
