Job Description

The RTP Design Center develops advanced CPU, chip, and software technologies for the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform that is leading the industry in mobile computing performance and power efficiency.
As part of the RTP team you will contribute to advancing the state-of-the art in industry leading software solutions for high-performance, long battery life, always-connected, mobile computing platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop Board Support Packages for mobile platforms incorporating QUALCOMM's Next Generation chips
Processor and system level power management and optimization for mobile platform
Application and systems level performance optimization
Assist suppliers and customers with BSP and system level setup and questions
Proactively look for and execute on opportunities to improve Qualcomm software performance, stability and power management
Skills/Experience
2 to 10 years embedded software development experience required
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong experience in C/C++ programming (assembly language a plus)
Strong software debugging skills on embedded real time operating systems
Software device driver development on WinCE, Windows Mobile, Linux or other OS of comparable complexity)
Additional Skills
Real time embedded systems experience
Prior experience with portable hand-held devices including UMPCs, PMPs and gaming consoles
Familiarity with ARM architecture and instruction sets, microprocessor architecture
Familiarity with JTAG-debuggers, emulators, test equipment such as Oscilloscope/Logic Analyzers, test-mobiles & logging tools
Excellent communications and interpersonal skill
Ability to work in a multi-discipline, team environment with a strong commitment to customer success
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering required
Master's degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering preferred
